About Me
My Professional Aspirations
Hello there! I'm a professional editor and communications specialist! I work on all things communication: from languages to editing, I love to do it all. I have an Honours Bachelor of Creative Writing & Publishing degree from Sheridan College and an Associate's in English from Cuyamaca College.
I found myself editing from a young age; it started with helping teachers with grammar, and evolved to offering writing advice to my fellow students throughout primary school. Since then I've loved editing, and I am passionate about the publishing industry. I've worked on many different writing-oriented projects; in them, I have cemented my editing, teamwork, and content writing skills. My work has appeared as in-house memos, public-facing resources and documents, and official submissions to local and provincial government bodies in Ontario, Canada.
Whatever I do, I love learning and making people smile just a little bit more!
Ethos & Philosophy
Editing towards a better future
The experience of working in different fields has persuaded me to try new things and expand my horizons beyond a desk and red pen. My goal is to try my hand at jobs that deal with my passions: environmental sustainability, gender studies, education, and language. Since I was a child, I saw working professionals and those with post-secondary credentials as incredible people. I hope to challenge myself to take on the same obstacles and be able to specialize in a field where I can make an impact.
In my professional career, I believe I can make anyone's writing better; whether it be their documents, research, or personal manuscripts, in my opinion there is always room for improvement. I like to refine a work to make it the most clear and coherent piece of text it can be. I tend to always focus on grammatical errors and clarity when editing so that any message can be understood. By understanding each other, I think we can all learn to empathize more with one another.
